She is trained flyer and always lands quickly to locate her trainer, but in the heavy winds she may have been disoriented. If no owner is found within the next few weeks, I will re-home the parakeet. I will NOT send anyone a picture of the bird without first being given an accurate description. The potential owner must give me an accurate description of the bird, and must provide a picture and/or vet records of the bird. I will put up signs in my neighborhood, but thought I would circulate an e-mail too, on the off chance I could find the owner that way. I took the bird home and gave it parakeet seed, and it ate it like it was starving. (Had that been a coyote, the bird would be dead!) I put my dogs in the car, and grabbed a blanket from my car and threw it on top of the bird. One of my dogs walked right over it, and it didn't even fly away.

A parakeet kept flying right over me, and kept landing on the ground, trying to eat the grass. This evening I was at a park in Granada Hills, CA with my dogs.
